Remembering A Mother on Good Friday…

I cannot image a woman standing at the foot of a cross watching the agony that her Son is going through, and yet she was left no choice but to do just that.  It took great courage to stand there with Him until he passed.  Knowing he was the Son of God did little for the anguish she suffered for the Man on the cross.  On Good Friday we forget that Mary, his Mother, suffered with him as well.  For Good Friday and Holy Saturday, let’s remember Mother Mary.

  1. I was so fortunate to have most of my family around me. They came from Michigan and Alabama and a good time was had by all. Hope your weekend was fantastic too.

  2. I don’t think Mary is thought of a lot on this holiday and you’re right, as as a person and as a mother I can’t imagine anyone, but especially his mother watching someone suffer and die in front of her. Even more so, to let him go.
Thank you, this really made me see things in a different way.

    • If it helps you to see things from a different perspective then I did my job. Yes, the crucifixion was the most important thing for Christians that day, as it was for Mother Mary. Yet no one remembers her…I like to think she’s our Mother too. Your pal…Pat
