“All people young and old, are welcome to come, see and enjoy the islands, and leave them as they found them for the unborn generations to come see and enjoy.”      –  Michael the First

Even after I shared two posts on my Saltee experiences I still have a lot to say. I love this place.

When we arrived to Kilmore Quay to catch our motor boat, the sea looked rough. In the days of sail, the area around the Islands was known as “the graveyard of a thousand ships”.  I cannot tell that I have a brilliant memory, but this sort of information somehow always gets stuck in my head.

Tiptoe Through Our Fairy Garden: Enjoy!

This last couple of weeks with all of the rain The Fairy Garden has exploded with colors!  Kevin Cooper (Great Indie Authors) requested pictures of the Prickly Pear that we have that are indigenous to the Southwestern Missouri area.  We don’t have to buy plants anymore since the perennials self-propagate so we just cut a bit off and replant!

Please enjoy our Fairy Garden and we will be sure to take pictures of the next phase of the Fairy Garden as it grows.  God Bless 🙂

On returning home yesterday evening I was excited to open a package from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and find it contained my book, “Dalliance; A Collection Of Poetry And Prose” in Braille. Although “Dalliance” is available as an ebook with text to speech enabled, allowing visually impaired people to read it, I wanted my own copy in Braille and requested that RNIB transcribe “Dalliance”. It is a wonderful feeling to hold a braille edition of “Dalliance” and know that the book will be made available for other Braille readers to borrow.

RNIB advise that “Dalliance” will be added to the library catalogue, (http://www.rnib.org.uk/services-we-offer-reading-services-rnib-national-library-service/library-catalogue). This does not appear to have happened yet. It is however early days and I am sure the book will soon be available for RNIB library members to access.
