One Lovely Blog Award…Thank you!

One Lovely Blog AwardI would like to thank Charles Ray‘s fantastic book review blog and also everyone that takes the time to read my blog.  I am very honored to be nominated for this award that I will proudly display on my site.

Now I reveal 7 things about myself you may or may not have known.

1.  I wrote my first novel in High School.  Chapters were sold for $0.25 cents each…It kept my car in gas.

2.  My favorite book is “Peck’s Bad Boy and his Pa“.

3.  When my son and daughter were born, I was in the room watching.

4.  I have the honor of being married to the same woman for forty-five years.  If I had to do it again, I would in a heartbeat.

5.  My first published novel, “The Wolf’s Moon” was written in longhand and took about a year or so to finish.

6.  I love to watch nature, watching flowers grow in one of our many gardens.  Sitting in the room where I write I watch the animals drink from the creek.

7.  Most of all, I love working with my wife each day, meeting all of the wonderful people around the world and reading their thoughts in blogging.

Oh yeah, did I mention anything about woodworking?  No?  Well, maybe next time.

Charles Ray: A Blog Award

Wow…humbled by the nomination by Charles Ray for The Lovely Blog Award. Thank you so very much!

Charles Ray's Ramblings

one-lovely-blog-award-e1447361998422I don’t normally pay a lot of attention to blog awards–too busy blogging, book reviewing, and writing–but, I have to stop and say thanks to Anatomy of Perceval for One Lovely Blog Award. I’m really not sure what I did to deserve it, but it’s always nice to learn that there are actually people out there who read what I write.

So, having that out of the way, I’ll follow the rules for this award.

7 Interesting Facts About Myself

I’ve been writing since I was about 12 or 13 – got my first short story published in a national magazine back then.

I have a short attention span, and get bored easily, so I write and read in a lot of genres.

My first full-length work of fiction took eight years to write–but, now I finish a book of 60,000 words in about a month.

The Linden Chronicles: The Wolf's Moon by Patrick Jones Amazon link4.  The impedance for the title of the book, The Wolf’s Moon, came about by the phase of the moon in January, Wolf Moon. You can read the blog about the title here:  http://wp.me/p2Oumz-3r and  great information here that was reblogged from Rob Mahan/Once in a Blue Moon:  http://wp.me/p2Oumz-Y

5.  The people in the area that I live were also the impedance for the content of the book.  The book takes place in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri.  You can read about this here:  http://wp.me/p2Oumz-2w

6.  I have 1 short story ready for edit, another short story WIP and the sequel to The Wolf’s Moon is my WIP to be released the first half of 2015.  At this point, I am not ready to reveal the covers or details for any of the three WIP’s…but…soon, very very soon.  I will be looking for bloggers to help promote at each release date.  If you are interested just drop me a message.  All help would be greatly appreciated!!

7.  I have been married for 43 years.  I have 2 wonderful children, all grown up…a boy and a girl.  My son has 3 boys and my daughter has a boy and a girl.  They all vary in ages from 16 all the way down to 4.  Grandkids are the best gift God could ever bestow to anyone.  For us, it keeps us young as we remember the “curse” we put on them when they were younger.  We didn’t mean it really…but they remind us that we said, “I wish your kids will be just as bad as you are!!”
