One Lovely Blog Award…Thank you!

One Lovely Blog AwardI would like to thank Charles Ray‘s fantastic book review blog and also everyone that takes the time to read my blog.  I am very honored to be nominated for this award that I will proudly display on my site.

Now I reveal 7 things about myself you may or may not have known.

1.  I wrote my first novel in High School.  Chapters were sold for $0.25 cents each…It kept my car in gas.

2.  My favorite book is “Peck’s Bad Boy and his Pa“.

3.  When my son and daughter were born, I was in the room watching.

4.  I have the honor of being married to the same woman for forty-five years.  If I had to do it again, I would in a heartbeat.

5.  My first published novel, “The Wolf’s Moon” was written in longhand and took about a year or so to finish.

6.  I love to watch nature, watching flowers grow in one of our many gardens.  Sitting in the room where I write I watch the animals drink from the creek.

7.  Most of all, I love working with my wife each day, meeting all of the wonderful people around the world and reading their thoughts in blogging.

Oh yeah, did I mention anything about woodworking?  No?  Well, maybe next time.

Stare into the Monster Maker (Finale)

Great new critters over on Charles Yallowitz’ blog! Fantastic choice for video too 🙂 Happy Halloween!

Legends of Windemere

The final batch of critters have been donated by L. Marie:

Furbfur

A hypo-allergenic construct that begins life as a featureless dog made out of clay.  It is molded and changed to suit the owner’s requirements.  This means it can be turned into a hunting dog, lap dog, guard dog, or whatever kind you wish.  One can even designate a specific diet that can work within their budget.  This tends to be done by those getting the animal for children or elderly, but can’t afford much else.  Most people make combinations of breeds and the Furbfur is very popular as a service dog because of its versatility and the ease of training.  These are still sentient creatures and require time to adjust to their bodies and owners.  Sadly, there are those who turn these animals into attack dogs and run fights, so there is a discussion on if they…

Stare into the Monster Maker (Day 4)

Happy Halloween featured by Charles Yallowitz!!

Legends of Windemere

These creatures have been ‘donated’ by Jo Robinson:

Vikpistxlds

Named by someone whose laptop only had ‘i’ for vowel letters, the Vikpistxlds is one of the most curious creatures to come out of Wulgaz.  It has a five year lifespan and changes both form and behavior on its birthday.  It begins as a small flower that can survive as long as one root remains in the dirt.  So there are several creatures that will feed off what one can guess is the Vikpistxlds’ head until the second stage.  This is where it becomes mobile as a fist-sized beetle that rolls around in a ball.  It has a row of spines to protect it from predators as well as a noxious spray. The third stage is the size of a bush and happens after a month of slumber.  The body is leathery and the Vikpistxlds resemble an antlered monitor lizard. …
