Today there will be a two minute silence, an act of Remembrance. How many will hear it?

“‘Sound!’

‘Quite. Do you realise that the word silent and the word listen are comprised of the same set of letters arranged in a different order?’

‘And what can be gained from listening to the silence I wonder?’

‘Well, nothing actually because you can’t listen to silence you have to listen in silence. Try it!’”

Heart of Albion: Tales from the Wondrous Head

Outside the world sleeps, birds are silent, there is no noise from the road in the pre-dawn darkness. I have to get up. It was the silence that woke me. It often does.

The kettle is on, filling the kitchen with prophetic, protective noise. The fridge hums and the computer whirrs. The dog whimpers and chases birds in her dreams, snoring occasionally. I am grateful. It is, for me, a…

The Hot Zone by Richard Preston – An Insight into the Terrifying History of the Ebola virus

We watch the news daily about the horrifying effects of the current outbreak of the Ebola virus.  It breaks my heart to see the happenings around the world in response to the outbreak.  On the other hand, it gives me joy to see the art of science in action saving lives with new research.  My training and expertise within the medical field makes me shudder to watch and read the CNN clip today about selling the blood of survivors on the black market.  I cannot even explain to you the ramifications of this practice and what it could mean to the world.  Pat and I have both read “The Hot Zone” by Richard Preston and highly recommend it to everyone to get a glimpse of the terror this virus could bring to the world.  We both HIGHLY recommend this book.  I read the book in one day and could not put it down, it was that moving.  I am attaching the book picture that you can click on to take you to the Amazon Kindle location.  My hope is that in some way this can be a wake up call for everyone on how this could be just the tip of the iceberg at this stage of the outbreak.  May God Bless and keep you safe…Sandy Jones

Hello to everyone!

This will be short but I want to thank everyone for their good thoughts, best wishes and prayers.

Since March, it has been something of a go.  Not all bad.  I hope to be back writing soon.  Cardiac Rehab is going well.  The doctor says I am doing remarkably well.

2 days ago was my three month anniversary for open heart surgery.  The scars are healing physically but putting my life back mentally is a challenge.  I have to remember to go slow!!  This time next year, the doctor says, I should be much better, maybe never 100% but much better.

I found a family that I thought I lost years ago.  I found a deeper faith in God.  I found friends I never knew I had.

All I can say is a deep felt thanks and I WILL be writing again soon!!

To celebrate, I am making “The Wolf’s Moon” e-book FREE on Amazon FRIDAY THE 13th and again on SATURDAY THE 14th of September 2013.  Please click on the book to go directly to AMAZON.  ENJOY and thanks again!
