About the Legends of Windemere

A young warrior has set off to become a hero, a powerful caster has left home to face her destiny, an orphaned gypsy is desperate to hold onto her new family, a broken woman has awoken to a strange world, a drite has eaten every apple in his path, a barbarian warrior is keeping a secret, and a former mercenary’s confidence has been broken. This doesn’t even cover the epic battles, bitter betrayals, awkward romances, and near death experiences that have plagued the champions of Windemere. At least they have each other.

Stare into the Monster Maker (Finale)

Great new critters over on Charles Yallowitz’ blog! Fantastic choice for video too 🙂 Happy Halloween!

Legends of Windemere

The final batch of critters have been donated by L. Marie:

Furbfur

A hypo-allergenic construct that begins life as a featureless dog made out of clay.  It is molded and changed to suit the owner’s requirements.  This means it can be turned into a hunting dog, lap dog, guard dog, or whatever kind you wish.  One can even designate a specific diet that can work within their budget.  This tends to be done by those getting the animal for children or elderly, but can’t afford much else.  Most people make combinations of breeds and the Furbfur is very popular as a service dog because of its versatility and the ease of training.  These are still sentient creatures and require time to adjust to their bodies and owners.  Sadly, there are those who turn these animals into attack dogs and run fights, so there is a discussion on if they…

Stare into the Monster Maker (Day 4)

Happy Halloween featured by Charles Yallowitz!!

Legends of Windemere

The third stage is the size of a bush and happens after a month of slumber.  The body is leathery and the Vikpistxlds resemble an antlered monitor lizard. …

Curse of the Dark Wind by Charles E. Yallowitz

BOOK BUZZ TIPS

A successful book launch can really make a difference:

  • Early sales help a book start out with a good sales rank.
  • This gives the book better visibility, especially if the book lands on any of the bestseller lists (even in a subcategory).
  • The customers-also-bought list also builds faster.
  • If sales taper off, those early sales prevent the rank from sliding as quickly.
  • Early sales improve the chances for early reviews.

In this article, I will present a variety of ideas to assist with book promotion before, during, and shortly after the book launch.

To help illustrate some of my points, I will feature strategies used by fantasy author Charles E. Yallowitz, who is presently promoting his own book launch for Curse of the Dark Wind, the sixth book in his Legends of Windemere series.
